These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Folium website, available at https://foliumio.netlify.app ("the Site"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Folium provides a collection of free, browser-based PDF processing tools. These tools process files entirely on the user's local device using client-side JavaScript. Folium does not provide cloud storage, server-side processing, or any file management service beyond local browser-based operations.
By using Folium, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using Folium on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
You may use Folium for any lawful personal or business PDF processing purpose. You agree not to:
You retain full ownership of all files you process using Folium. Because Folium processes files entirely within your browser, we do not receive, store, or have access to your files at any time. You are solely responsible for the content of files you process and for ensuring you have the legal right to process them.
The Folium website, including its design, text, code, and branding, is owned by Folium and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The open-source libraries used (pdf-lib, pdf.js, JSZip) are subject to their respective open-source licences.
You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from Folium's website design or content without express written permission.
Folium relies on third-party services including Netlify (hosting), Google Fonts (typography), Cloudflare CDN (library delivery), and optionally Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Your use of these services when visiting Folium is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
Folium is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the tools will be error-free, that they will produce accurate results for all files, or that the Site will be available at all times without interruption.
PDF processing results depend on the quality and structure of input files. Folium makes no guarantees regarding the completeness, accuracy, or fitness for purpose of any output file generated by our tools.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Folium and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or its tools, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damage to files.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Folium shall not exceed zero, as the service is provided free of charge.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Folium and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Folium at any time without notice. We also reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Folium shall be resolved through appropriate legal channels in the jurisdiction applicable to the operator.
